Newly-managerless Chelsea take on Liverpool on Tuesday night in their first game since the sacking of Graham Potter on Sunday.

The Blues are in the bottom half of the table having won just 12 games in all competitions under Potter, while Liverpool have also struggled to match the efforts of previous years, and there are a range of betting offers to take advantage of ahead of the encounter.

Chelsea vs Liverpool match preview

After just 31 matches and 208 days in charge, Graham Potter’s tenure as Chelsea manager is over.

On Saturday night, the Blues were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa at home, with Potter’s departure confirmed 24 hours later.

Having won just three of 13 Premier League matches in 2023, Chelsea have sunk into the bottom half of the table, last finishing that low in 1995/96.

For now, the Blues need points if they’re to stay in touch with the European places.

Liverpool are the division’s other biggest underachievers, kicking off in eighth, eight points below Manchester United in fourth.

On Saturday, despite taking the lead through Mohamed Salah’s curler, the Reds were ultimately smashed 4-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad.

Jürgen Klopp’s team have been frankly dismal on the road this season, losing eight of 14 matches, with only seven clubs enjoying fewer than their three away victories.

With a game against league-leaders Arsenal to come on Easter Sunday, Liverpool need points now to remain interested in the top four race.

Each of the last five meetings between these two clubs have ended in draws.

This includes both last season’s Carabao and FA Cup Finals, both won by Liverpool on penalties, and an uneventful scoreless stalemate at Anfield in January.

Will there be a winner at Stamford Bridge?
