Match preview

After contrasting Thursday night performances, will either claim three points in Yorkshire?

In midweek, Fulham easily swatted aside Aston Villa, prevailing 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Harrison Reed fired home from long-range, Aleksandar Mitrović converted a penalty and then Neeskens Kebano provoked a late own goal.

So, despite beginning October with back-to-back defeats, Marco Silva’s side have moved up to ninth; very few would’ve predicted that.

Leeds United meanwhile were dismal on Thursday, beaten 2-0 by fellow-strugglers Leicester City.

Robin Koch’s early own goal setting the tone on a miserable for the travelling supporters at the King Power.

Nevertheless, Leeds start the weekend 16th, above the drop zone on goal difference alone.

Will the home side claim a much-needed first victory in 63 days at Elland Road?

Leeds United team news

After Robin Koch’s own goal on Thursday, Liam Cooper could return at centre-back, partnering Diego Llorente.

Patrick Bamford led the line against Leicester, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s fit enough to go again here.

Crysencio Summerville was also in the midweek XI, but Jack Harrison is set to retake his position on the right.

18 year old Wilfried Gnonto is still yet to make his debut, since arriving from Swiss champions FC Zürich on deadline day.

Fulham team news

Nathaniel Chalobah’s red card against Newcastle means he is suspended, while Kenny Tete and Layvin Kurzawa are injured.

Tosin Adarabioyo was dropped last weekend, with Issa Diop and Tim Ream the new first-choice centre-back pairing.

At right-back, Bobby Decordova-Reid is set to continue to fill-in, even though Kevin Mbabu is available.

Aleksandar Mitrović, who’s scored four in his last five appearances against Leeds, will lead the line.

Dan James is ineligible as he’s on loan from the hosts.
