This article provides betting tips information for Leicester vs Leeds in the Premier League on Thursday 20 October 2022.

Match preview

Bottom-of-the-table Leicester host Leeds at the King Power Stadium in one of the games they will have highlighted as a must-win if they are to climb off the foot of the Premier League table.

The Foxes have just one win to their name – 4-0 over Nottingham Forest – but followed it up with a defeat to Bournemouth and drab draw at home to Crystal Palace to leave themselves still four points adrift of safety and four points adrift of Leeds, who have stuttered and are without a win in five after a promising start to the season.

To add insult to injury, key man and the in-form James Maddison was booked late on against Palace for trying to force a penalty, and was accused of simulation, resulting in his fifth yellow card of the season and a one-game suspension for the key game against Leeds.

With Brendan Rodgers under increasing pressure from the fans, they are almost in must-win territory. Rodgers must decide how to adequately replace Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand and Jonny Evans, while Jamie Vardy could be recalled to provide a different threat up front.

Leeds travel to Leicester having gone five games without a win but played very well without reward in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

They have struggled to break down sides in the bottom half of the table so far this season but the return of Luis Sinisterra against Arsenal showcased what a talent and a threat he could be, and if Leeds can put a run of games together where he and Bamford can line-up alongside each other, a string of positive results surely can’t be far away.

Pascal Struijk has been one of Leeds’ stand-out performers this season but has suffered a knock in training which means Junior Firpo will come into the side – news which will be met with uncertainty by Leeds fans given his past troubles.

101’s Tip

Harvey Barnes has a rich record against Leeds, scoring in each of his last five appearances against them. Given Leeds’ attacking threat against Arsenal, they should start scoring soon so BTTS looks a good bet.
