Can Sam Allardyce be the man to end Manchester City’s winning streak?
On Tuesday, Leeds confirmed that they had sacked Javi Gracia, after just 12 games in charge, with Big Sam appointed to save them from relegation.
Leeds will be the ninth different Premier League club Allardyce has managed, after Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Everton and West Brom.
The reason for his arrival is the Whites’ horrendous form, yielding just one point from their last five games.
Sunday’s 4-1 drubbing at Bournemouth meant Leeds conceded 23 goals in April, the most any club have ever shipped in a single month, breaking their own record of 20 set in February last year.
Despite all of this, Allardyce takes over a team who aren’t actually in the relegation zone, kicking off above Nottingham Forest on goal difference, and a point clear of Everton.
Allardyce first game back certainly could not be tougher, as he attempts to end Manchester City’s 19-match unbeaten run.
On Wednesday night, second half goals from Nathan Aké, Erling Braut Håland, who else, and Phil Foden saw the Citizens swat aside West Ham.
That made it nine consecutive Premier League victories for Pep Guardiola’s team, who kick off one point clear of Arsenal, with a game in hand.
The Citizens will be at the Bernabéu on Tuesday, but must not look beyond a, potentially, rejuvenated Leeds.
Two seasons ago, Leeds, with only ten-men, won 2-1 at the Etihad before, last time they visited, getting smacked 7-0.
A repeat of the latter seems far more likely.

Pep Guardiola rotated his goalkeeper in mid-week, with Stefan Ortega making his Premier League debut, but Ederson will surely return here.
Fit again Nathan Aké returned to defence against West Ham, while Kevin De Bruyne has missed Man City’s last two games due to illness, but is expected to feature this time.
