Manchester City will kick off a huge Sunday in the Premier League by playing hosts to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad just before the monumental clash between Arsenal and Manchester United that Pep Guardiola will be watching.
City will be keen to see their Manchester rivals get all three points at the Emirates, despite a loss to United last weekend. Jack Grealish looked liked winning it that day in the Manchester derby for the champions before a late rally for the Red Devils.
However, in returning with all three points in a fantastic second half display against Tottenham Hotspur, City have reminded everyone why they are still arguably the ones to watch in this title race.
City went 2-0 down against Spurs at the Etihad in the first half but returned with a 4-2 win. All four goals came in the second half, as Erling Haaland ended his two-game goal drought just two minutes after Julian Alvarez scored. Riyad Mahrez made it four in the second 45 with two goals himself.
As for Wolves, they lost to Liverpool in the FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday. On the other hand, they’ve been defeated only once in the Premier League since Julen Lopetegui took to the helm, as United beat them on New Year’s Eve.
City should get another routine win here and reignite the title race as a result.
