Match Preview for West Ham v Newcastle

Newcastle travel to West Ham for Monday Night football to round off the Premier League action this week.

The Hammers beat Leicester 2-0 last time out, claiming back-t0-back wins for the first time under Graham Potter and in almost a year.

The London side remain 15th in the table, but there is a renewed sense of hope inside the London Stadium that the Hammers can finish the campaign strong.

Newcastle are still chasing a Champions League spot, but must fix their inconsistency issues if they are to secure a spot in the top five.

They are sixth under Eddie Howe, but can climb as high as third with a few good results.

That will include winning in East London, but it will not be an easy task, especially as they will know the outcome of all their rivals’ games before they play.

Team news for West Ham v Newcastle

Potter had some good news for fans in his pre-match press conference.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss confirmed both Lucas Paqueta and Vladimir Coufal should be back in contention for the match on Monday.

However, Crysencio Summerville, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug all remain out.

Newcastle will be without their talisman Anthony Gordon, who will begin his suspension for his red card against Brighton in the FA Cup.

Alexander Isak is fit but expected to be managed with the Carabao Cup final next Sunday.

Lewis Hall is out for the season in another big blow for the Magpies, while Sven Botman will miss the next few months alongside Jamaal Lascelles.
