Tottenham have scored in each of the last nine North London Derbies, their longest such streak since 1967. Arsenal have failed to win their last seven away league matches against Spurs, losing four of the last five. Here, the Gunners are looking to win three consecutive league derbies for the first time in 33 years. Just one of Spurs’ last 11 managers have won their first North London Derby, this being José Mourinho in July 2020.

Both teams to score is 4/6.

Draw and both teams to score is 7/2.

Harry Kane is the record scorer in North London Derby history with 11 from 14 league appearances. He is 3/1 to break the deadlock and 5/6 to add to this tally.

Match preview

It could all come down to this.

Local bragging rights, three points and Champions League qualification are all on the line as these two fierce rivals lock horns for the 205th time.

The visitors come into this mouthwatering contest having won four games on the bounce, most recently beating Leeds 2-1 on Sunday.

Eddie Nketiah struck twice in the opening ten minutes of that one before, in the end, the Gunners were clinging on against ten-men.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s team have found form at just the right time, following recent victories over Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham.

Thus, Arsenal currently sit four points clear of their neighbours, knowing a victory here would rubber stamp their Champions League place.

Conversely, a Tottenham win would pile all the pressure back onto Arsenal with two games of the season to go.

Antonio Conte’s team faced Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday night and a famous win looked on when Son Heung-min poked home the opener.

However, the Reds equalised 14 minutes from time, a shot deflecting in off Rodrigo Bentancur, meaning the points were shared on Merseyside.

On the face of it, Spurs played well, battled hard and left with a well-earned point but, ultimately, this merely saw them fall further behind Arsenal.

Also, Spurs have only won one of their last four, seeing off an otherwise engaged Leicester side 3-1 at home 11 days ago.

But, with their final two games against Burnley and Norwich, they’ll feel top four will be very much on if they can cut the gap down to just one point.

Back in August, first half goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka saw Arsenal swat aside Spurs 3-1.

This was the first time in recorded history that either team has been 3-0 up at half time against the other; a repeat seems unlikely.

A lot has changed since then, most notably the fact that Nuno Espírito Santo was sacked a mere five weeks later.

This might just be the biggest North London Derby for a generation, so who will be celebrating as they meet with fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the very-first time?

Tottenham Hotspur team news

Antonio Conte’s XI is very settled right now so expect an unchanged XI from the one that started at Anfield.

This features Emerson at right-wing-back with Matt Doherty sidelined due to a Medial collateral ligament tear.

On the other flank, with Sergio Reguilón also not fit, Ryan Sessegnon will keep his place.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg will continue as the double-pivot with Oliver Skipp having just had surgery.

In attack, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have scored 11 and four derby goals respectively, both netting in this fixture last season.

Dejan Kuluševski will complete the front three having racked up three goals and eight assists since joining from Juventus in January.

Arsenal team news

Likewise, Arsenal’s XI is generally settled, although Mikel Arteta does have some big decisions to make.

Takehiro Tomiyasu’s return to fitness is timely; he’s started the last two having not started since 20 January before this.

With Nuno Tavares not trusted and Kieran Tierney out, the Japanese defender was deployed at left-back on Sunday and is set to remain there.

The other wrinkle in the defensive conundrum is Ben White, who has sat out the last two but there is optimism he could be fit for this one.

So, White could displace Rob Holding at centre-back, come in for Cédric at right-back or perhaps, if Arteta’s feeling cautious, form a back five.

In midfield, Mohamed Elneny has proved to be the perfect deputy for Thomas Partey, with Arsenal winning all four since the Egyptian has come into the side.

Further forward, captain Martin Ødegaard is likely to be flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. with Emile Smith Rowe the super-sub.

Having scored four in his last four, Eddie Nketiah will lead the line, starting a sixth Premier League match on the bounce.

If he gets on, Alexandre Lacazette will be looking to add to his tally four goals in his last five league derbies.
