The Premier League title race for 2021/22 promises to be one of the closest-fought for years, with Liverpool once again looking to topple Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side stormed to the top of the league at Christmas as they look to defend the title they won back last season but they are now facing a major challenge from Liverpool.

Title favourites
Manchester City took a step towards retaining their Premier League title as they held Liverpool to a draw. City and Liverpool drew 2-2 at the Etihad as the Reds twice came from behind to earn a point. Pep Guardiola’s side maintained their 1 point lead at the top and have just two remaining fixtures against top-half sides. Following the enthralling 2-2 draw, the reigning champions remain strong favourites to lift the trophy at 2/5.

Title challengers
Liverpool will walk away from Sunday’s incredible top of the table clash with Manchester City somewhat underwhelmed with just a point. The Reds still trail City by a point and have little to no room for error in their remaining fixtures. Jurgen Klopp’s team have some interesting games coming up as they take on Man United, Everton and Spurs in three of their next four matches. The Merseyside club are now just 2/1 to move above City and win the title.
Despite emphatically returning to winning ways with a 6-1 win over Southampton, Chelsea’s title bid is all but over. The Blues are now fighting to remain in the top four although their win over the Saints should now ensure that happens. The focus of Thomas Tuchel’s side now appears to be on the defence of their Champions League title as they face Real Madrid in the second-leg of the quarter-finals on Tuesday. Given the 12 point gap to the top, Chelsea are now at very long odds of 500/1.

Title outsiders
Arsenal’s top-four bid has taken a major hit over the past week with the Gunners suffering back to back defeats. Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten 3-0 away at Crystal Palace on Monday before also losing 2-1 at home to Brighton. They have also picked up several key injuries including Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney who look set to miss the rest of the season. Following back to back defeats Arsenal are now at 2,500/1 to make a late dash for the top spot.
