Match preview

A crucial clash in the race for third and guaranteed UEFA group stage football next season.

Right now, it’s Heart of Midlothian who are in pole position to take the coveted spot, sat third, five points clear of Hibs.

However, Robbie Neilson’s team come into this one following back-to-back defeats, both at the hands of Celtic, one in the Premiership and then in last weekend’s Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Nevertheless, in games against teams below them, the Jambos have lost just one of their last 17, most recently smashing St Johnstone 3-0 a fortnight ago.

Aberdeen though won 2-0 when these two last met in the Granite City, with Duk and Vicente Besuijen on target back in October.

More recently, in January, the Dons were smashed 5-0 at Tynecastle, with Jim Goodwin sacked shortly after.

This has lifted the Reds up to fifth, seven points below their visitors, really needing to win this one to stay in the hunt for third.

Hearts have lost each of their last six visits to Pittodrie, so can they break that streak here?
