Celtic have won their last three meetings with Hearts, albeit all three victories have been by a single goal. Their last 11 meetings at Parkhead have all produced home wins; Hearts last left Glasgow’s East End victorious in October 2009.

Celtic to win and over 2.5 goals is 4/5.

Celtic to win and both teams to score is 15/8.

Celtic to win, both teams to score and over 3.5 goals is 3/1.

Kyōgo Furuhashi has scored both times Hearts have visited Celtic Park this season, two of his 17 for the club. The Japanese striker is 13/5 to break the deadlock and 4/7 to score anytime.

Match preview

Will Celtic all but secure the Scottish Premiership title, with just a week of the season remaining?

When Jota poked home the opener 20 minutes in, it looked like being a day of celebration for the vast majority in attendance.

However, Celtic were made to rue their missed chances with Rangers equalising in the second half and, in truth, they could’ve won it at the end.

Nevertheless, that 1-1 draw maintains the Hoops’ six-point lead at the top, needing just four points from their last three games to rubber stamp the title.

Also, given that Ange Postecoglou’s side boast a vastly superior goal difference, a win here would essentially see them reclaim the league title.

Given that are Celtic now unbeaten in 29 league games, winning 24 of them, a victory here would seem likely.

Don’t write off Heart of Midlothian though as they’ve also enjoyed a season to remember, and it could yet get even better.

Even before the post-split fixtures, the Jambos had wrapped up third place, which brings with it a golden ticket in terms of European qualification.

Hearts will enter the Europa League play-off round in August, meaning they’re guaranteed eight European fixtures in the autumn.

Despite having ostensibly nothing to play for, Robbie Neilson’s side have beaten Dundee United 3-2 and drawn 0-0 with Ross County in recent weeks.

As mentioned, a great season could turn into an unbelievable one for Hearts who face Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final in a fortnight.

Their league season began by beating Celtic at Tynecastle back in July, so now can they cause an even bigger upset away to the soon to be champions?

Celtic team news

Kyōgo Furuhashi will start for the third game in a row having missed four months of the season due to a hamstring injury.

He’ll continue to lead the line, chosen over Georgios Giakoumakis, despite the fact the Greek international has scored 12 goals in 2022.

Jota will start out-wide but Liel Abada could displace Daizen Maeda on the other flank.

Tony Ralston will continue at right-back, although Josip Juranović is hoping to feature again this season.

Centre-backs Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt still haven’t lost a Premiership game when starting together.

Reo Hatate, who scored a stunner at Tynecastle in January, and Matt O’Riley could continue in midfield, chosen over Tom Rogic and David Turnbull.

Heart of Midlothian team news

39 year old goalkeeper Craig Gordon will face his former club here having been presented with the Football Writers’ Player of the Year award on Wednesday.

The defence in front of him though is depleted with Craig Halkett, Michael Smith and John Souttar all currently out.

So, Stephen Kingsley is likely to fill-in at centre-back, completing a make-shift pairing with Toby Sibbick.

Further forward, another former Celtic player Gary Mackay-Steven will be looking to supply the front two of Liam Boyce and Ellis Simms.

Mackay-Steven, Souttar, Boyce and Aaron McEneff have all already scored against Celtic this season.
