All three meetings between these two this season have produced home wins, including 2-1 and 2-0 victories for Dundee United. Overall, the Tangerines have won 13 of their last 23 meetings with Motherwell.

Both teams to score is 1/1.

Dundee United to win and both teams to score is 5/1.

Tony Watt has scored in all three Dundee United vs Motherwell games this season, twice for the Steelmen and then in Tangerine in February. He is 4/1 to break the deadlock and 6/4 to continue this statistical quirk.

Match preview

A huge game in the battle for European football as two clubs, just one points apart in the Premiership table, go head-to-head.

Of the two, Dundee United are a point better off as they seek to return to UEFA competition for the first time since 2012.

Dylan Levitt scored a stunning solo goal to open the scoring, before Ryan Edwards restored parity from range, but it was the Jambos who left with all three points.

Nevertheless, this is just the second time in 11 league games that Tam Courts’ side have suffered defeat.

A day earlier, Motherwell were beaten 3-1 by ten-man Rangers at Fir Park, despite Ross Tierney’s equaliser on the stroke of half time.

So, Graham Alexander’s side have only won one of 14 matches in 2022, still somehow managing to smuggle into the top half.

Thus, Dundee United remain fourth with Motherwell one point below in sixth.

The fourth and fifth placed finished enter Europa Conference League qualifying with sixth missing out.

It is all to play for at Tannadice, so will there be a winner?

Dundee United team news

Peter Pawlett, Ian Harkes, Tim Akinola and Maxime Biamou are all currently injured.

Striker Tony Watt is fit though and he’ll face the club he left in January.

Marc McNulty and Nicky Clark will complete a dangerous front three.

Motherwell team news

Motherwell's Fir Park

Without Watt, Motherwell have, somewhat, struggled for goals.

Joseph Efford and Connor Shields led the line last weekend but Kaiyne Woolery and Jordan Roberts are also decent options.
