Match preview
If Rangers are going to wrestle back the Premiership title in May, they need to go on a winning run, starting right here and now.
On Monday, Celtic visited Ibrox for the second Old Firm of the season, with the Hoops nine points clear at the top.
The title race looked all over when Celtic took a fifth minute lead; Alfredo Morelos playing a kamikaze pass in midfield.
But, Rangers came roaring out of the blocks in the second half, Ryan Kent curling home an equaliser, before James Tavernier smashed a penalty into the roof of the net.
However, the Light Blues could not hold onto three precious points, with Celtic equalising in the final minute.
So, with just over 50% of the season played, the gap remains at nine, meaning Mick Beale’s team simply cannot slip-up here.
On Monday, Tony Watt’s late winner saw the Tangerines beat St Johnstone 1-0 in the Tayside derby at McDiarmid Park.
Having drawn with Hearts on Christmas Eve and hammered Ross County four days later, Liam Fox’s team are now three points clear of the bottom.
Rangers failed to win either of their visits to Tannadice last season, losing 1-0 in August and then drawing 1-1 in February.
So, can the Tangerines spring a surprise once again?
