Match preview

Following Wednesday’s shock League Cup victory, will Kilmarnock’s Premiership campaign spark into life?

In mid-week, Innes Cameron was the only scorer as Killie beat Hearts at Tynecastle in the second round of the League Cup.

They’ll now host Dundee United in the quarter-finals next month, with a place at Hampden on the line.

Back in the league, the Championship champions also claimed their first victory of the season last weekend.

Dan Armstrong and then Ash Taylor the scorers as they came from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1 at Rugby Park.

So, Derek McInnes’ side are off the bottom of the table and up to ninth.

Hibernian meanwhile, having crashed out in the group stages, were not in League Cup action this week.

Lee Johnson’s poor start has continued in the Premiership too, with Hibs winless since a victory at St Johnstone on the opening day.

Last weekend, the Hibees put in another underwhelming display, going down 1-0 at St Mirren.

Their two home league games have both witnessed last-gasp equalisers, these coming against Hearts and then Rangers.

This one at Easter Road though is simply must win for Hibs.
