Match preview

After a memorable Tuesday night for Kilmarnock, will the positivity in Ayrshire continue?

In mid-week, Killie beat Dundee United 2-1 in the League Cup quarter-finals.

Kyle Lafferty breaking the deadlock early with an emphatic penalty before, in the second half, Jordan Jones’ cross was headed home by Danny Armstrong.

So, in January, Killie supporters will make the pilgrimage to Hampden for the first time since seeing their side lift the League Cup in 2012.

Back in the Premiership, Derek McInnes’ side have drawn their last two, most recently playing out a goalless draw with St Mirren.

This leaves Kilmarnock tenth, above Ross County and Dundee United on goal difference alone.

Malky Mackay’s men drew 1-1 with Dundee United last weekend; Ross Callachan breaking the deadlock in Dingwall.

Will the Staggies claim a much-needed win at Rugby Park, or will Kilmarnock be fantastic on the plastic?
