Kilmarnock vs St Mirren match preview

After both were dumped out of the League Cup at the quarter-final stage in mid-week, who will bounce back by picking up three Premiership points in Ayrshire?

On Tuesday night, Kilmarnock were beaten 2-1 by Hearts at home, with Brad Lyons equalising mid-way through the second half, only for the Jambos to snatch a stoppage time winner.

24 hours later, St Mirren were taking on the other Edinburgh club Hibernian and, despite goals from Scott Tanser and Keanu Baccus, saw their cup dreams shattered, ousted 4-2 at Easter Road.

This was particularly disappointing for Stephen Robinson’s side considering they’re unbeaten in the Premiership, winning four out of six, form that leaves the Buddies second, just two points below Celtic.

This though will not be easy, given that Kilmarnock have already beaten both Rangers and Celtic at home this season.

On the flip side, Derek McInnes’ side are winless in the league since the opening day, drawing their last two, so will St Mirren leave Rugby Park with the points?
