Rangers vs Aberdeen match preview

After both enjoyed Wednesday night wins, this could be a dress rehearsal for December’s League Cup Final, although there’s plenty of time before that potential eventuality.

Rangers hammered Livingston in their quarter-final tie this week, with Abdallah Sima, Rıdvan Yılmaz and Ryan Jack all on target in a routine 4-0 victory.

Michael Beale was under fire before the international break, after his team had been hammered by PSV in the Champions League play-offs, before defeat in the first Old Firm of the season.

Since then though, the Gers have won four out of four, including beating St Johnstone and Livingston in the Premiership, wins that have seen the Light Blues climb up to third, hoping to end the day higher still.

Aberdeen meantime have beaten Ross County not once but twice in the last seven days, first smashing the Staggies 4-0 at Pittodrie last Sunday.

This was actually the Dons’ first league victory of the campaign, hence why Barry Robson’s team are in the relegation play-off spot.

In this one, Rangers are highly likely to pick up three points at Ibrox.
