Match preview
The champions are aiming to get back into second with AC Milan playing hosts to Atalanta in what is the biggest game in Serie A this weekend with the Bergamo side down in sixth ahead of this match.
It’s been a tough ride for Atalanta in the past month, as they’ve managed to secure just one win in the past four outings with an excellent victory away to Lazio in Rome.
Last time out, however, the side from Bergamo lost to Lecce 2-1 and they were also beaten by Sassuolo at the start of February. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have also lost to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals just four weeks ago.
As for Milan, they are now three clear of Atalanta in sixth. The champions trail Inter in second by three points, however, with them also behind Roma on goals difference because of 30 goals let in this campaign.
Nevertheless, Milan are well back in the win column after losing four in a row. The club have gone on to beat Torino 1-0, Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Champions League and Monza last week in Serie A.
