Atalanta will be eyeing up second in Serie A this weekend when the club plays hosts to Lecce in Bergamo as Gian Piero Gasperini’s men head into this game off the back of two contrasting results that keeps them in the top three.
Gasperini’s side have been very topsy-turvy in the past month. The club have registered a sensational 8-2 win over Salernitana in this time but also gone on to forfeit a lead on two occasions against Juventus and even lose to Sassuolo.
Nevertheless, the club returned to the win column last Saturday with a fantastic win over Lazio in Rome. David Zappacosta and Rasmus Hojlund scored a goal each that day, as the club moved three clear of Maurizo Sarri’s men.
A place in second is achievable for Atalanta this Sunday, but with them three behind Inter Milan, they must hope Udinese beat them at the San Siro on Saturday.
As for Lecce, they are up into 13th after beating Cremonese on the road two weeks ago before a 1-1 draw with Roma at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero.
Lecce are now sitting a comfortable seven points clear of the bottom three and are above Fiorentina and Sassuolo just below them on goals difference too.
