Atalanta are in desperate need of a win this weekend when they play hosts to Udinese in Bergamo with the club now down in sixth and way adrift of the Champions League spots they were sitting in just two weeks ago.
This drop in the table comes after a 2-0 loss to AC Milan to now put them sixth, behind the champions and four adrift of Lazio just above them in the table. A place in the Champions League spots is still a serious possibility, but a win here feels like a must first of all.
The Bergamo side did lose when they were last at home, as Lecce defeated them two weeks ago in a 2-1 win. It now means 12 wins and seven defeats for the club this season, although only Inter and Napoli have scored more goals than their 42 from 24 games.
As for Udinese, they are winless in the past five games having lost to Torino and Inter Milan, while drawing with Spezia, Sassuolo and Hellas Verona.
It does still keep the club in the top half of Serie A, but they have also dropped down in the table in the past few weeks and their hopes of a return to Europe are all but gone.
