Match preview

Two sides aiming for a top half finish will clash in Serie A this Sunday afternoon as Monza head on the road to meet with Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium with only three points keeping the two apart before the game.

Bologna are in the top half right now, but as they sit ninth, they could swap places with Monza if they lose here with both sides having the same goals difference. The away outfit have scored one less goal with 28 but conceded one less too, as only 30 have gone in.

Monza are not thinking about relegation these days and after drawing 2-2 with Sampdoria, they sit 16 points above the 19th-placed side and 12 above the relegation zone.

Raffaele Palladino’s did also beat Juventus in Turin just two weeks ago, but Bologna are on a four-game winning run in the league. Atalanta were the last side to beat them in Serie A, although Thiago Motta’s men were knocked out of the Coppa Italia round of 16 just under a month ago.

Last time out, Bologna defeated Fiorentina in Florence with goals from Stefan Posch and Riccardo Orsolini.
