The winless Cremonese will welcome Sassuolo to the Giovanni Zini Stadium this Sunday afternoon with the newly-promoted side so far losing all four of their Serie A games since winning promotion just as the away outfit have won only once.
Neither team really comes into this one with much for, but after four defeats on the spin, there’s little hope heading into each game for Cremonese. The club met with the title challengers Inter Milan in midweek with David Okereke scoring in the 90th minute in a 3-1 loss for them. At the San Siro, they did still trouble Inter with an impressive four shots on target throughout the game too.
In fact, despite the constant losing feeling surrounding the club in the top flight, they have also managed to score four times and only failed to net a goal in the loss to Roma on the second weekend of action.
As for Sassuolo, they are actually unbeaten in the league since losing to Juventus on the opening weekend and their embarrassing loss to Modena in the Coppa Italia has been quickly forgotten about. The club managed to defeat Lecce in their only win of the season two weeks ago. This also comes with a recent midweek draw against the champions AC Milan, while also drawing with Spezia 2-2 after going behind twice in the game. David Frattesti and Andrea Pinamonti scored a goal each for Sassuolo in that draw.
It’s going to be a close one given how Cremonese have to start winning in order to avoid a lengthy relegation battle in 2022/23. Sassuolo, however, remain a tough team to beat.
