Match Preview

After more disappointment in midweek for Juventus, Max Allegri is now desperate for a win back in Serie A as the serial winners of Italian football welcome Salernitana to the Juventus Stadium this Sunday evening.

To put in perspective the poor start to the season for Juventus, despite being unbeaten in the league after five games, they are still ahead of their opposition this weekend by just three points and sit with the same amount of wins as Salernitana too.

Allegri also saw his side lose against Paris Saint-Germain in the season opener of the Champions League on Tuesday, as Weston McKennie brought one back following on from two quick goals from Kylian Mbappe in the first half. The Turin outfit are now winless in their past two games with them also drawing against Fiorentina over the weekend in Serie A too.

As for Salernitana, they are still living off the high of defeating Sampdoria 4-0 at the Arechi Stadium two weeks back. A 2-2 draw with Empoli last weekend and a 1-1 draw with Bologna shortly before this does mean they are on a four-game unbeaten run after also snatching a point off the high-flying Udinese three weeks ago.

Salernitana are sitting 10th in the league, but it’s doubtful they will be able to beat Juventus here, despite being only a few points behind in the table. Allegri’s side have still only conceded twice in the league this season and they will be confident in getting the job done once again he and staying unbeaten.
