Match preview
It’s one of Italy’s biggest games every year it comes around as Juventus welcome Inter Milan to the Juventus stadium as the Derby d’Italia steals the show this weekend as both sides sit way off where they were expected to be this campaign.
This fixture could end up being the end of the road for one side in terms of the title race if they can’t win here in Turin. Ahead of the game, Inter are in sixth and already eight points behind league leaders Napoli with the possibility of moving 11 points adrift of them should they lose and Napoli beat Atalanta. Juventus are in seventh with 22 points, 10 adrift of Napoli already.
Both sides have struggled tremendously for consistency this season and the Turin side even head into this one off the back of another Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain that ensured their Europa League status for after the World Cup. Worse yet, Max Allegri has only managed to guide Juventus to six wins from 12 games this season, losing twice and drawing four other games. The club do have the best defensive record in Serie A, however, conceding just seven goals in this time.
As for Inter, their eight wins for the season is only bettered by the league leaders, but with them losing four times already and letting in 17 goals, they have the worst defensive record inside the top 10 and are struggling to find any sort of rhythm on the domestic front.
