Juventus vs Inter Milan match preview
Title challengers Inter are hoping to return to winning ways away when they visit Juventus on Sunday, while neutrals are hoping for entertainment on the scale of the 4-4 draw the sides shared on October 27, which was the first time they had shared eight goals in the league since 1961.
While Inter started the weekend a point behind leaders Napoli, fifth-placed Juventus were 11 points behind Simone Inzaghi’s team despite a run of three consecutive wins in all competitions.
The last of those in Serie A came at Como on February 7, when Randal Kolo Muani scored the second of his goals in the 89th minute to make the final scoreline 2-1.
Stefan de Vrij scored even later for Inter when they were the away side against AC Milan at the Stadio San Siro on February 2, securing a 1-1 draw in the 93rd minute.
Since then, Inter have played Fiorentina twice in four days: losing the first game 3-0 in Florence and gaining revenge by the odd goal in three at home on Monday.
Juventus vs Inter team news
Centre-backs Gleison Bremer and Pierre Kalulu, left-back Juan Cabal and forward Arkadiusz Milik are out injured for Juventus.
Full-back Andrea Cambiaso remains a doubt after missing their last three matches with an ankle injury that has troubled him since December, as does attacker Marko Arnautovic with a thigh issue.
Defender Lloyd Kelly, who has joined on loan from Newcastle with a £20 million obligation to buy, made his Juve debut on Tuesday as a starter in their 2-1 home win over Dutch side PSV in the first leg of the play-offs to reach the Champions League round of 16.
On-loan Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez could make his 100th Serie A appearance, 13 of which have come for the Bianconeri.
Marcus Thuram is Inter’s 13-goal top scorer in Serie A but the forward has been training on his own after leaving the pitch prematurely with a knock to his left ankle during the win over Fiorentina.
“We all know how important he is for us,” Inzaghi said on Saturday, via TMW. “Right now, it’s more likely that he won’t be available.”
Federico Dimarco could return from a bout of flu on the left, while Denzel Dumfries is back from suspension on the opposite flank.
Inzaghi said he will “need to choose” between Francesco Acerbi and De Vrij, Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck and Alessandro Bastoni and Carlos Augusto in defence.

Juventus vs Inter Milan prediction
Juve have lost one of their 24 Serie A matches this season, with their main problem being a total of 13 draws – two more than any other side in the Italian top flight – and 10 victories. No team in the top eight has won fewer games.
Inter have lost once away and Juve are unbeaten at home this season, while the reigning champions have lost more times in this fixture than against any other opponents away.
They can be expected to take a point in another high-scoring contest between these heavyweights, perhaps finishing 2-2.
Two players could prove crucial if Juve are to prevail: 19-year-old Kenan Yildiz scored twice inside 12 minutes as his team recovered from 4-2 behind in the first meeting of these teams in 2024/25.
The Turkiye forward can now match Roberto Baggio’s record against Inter in a season for the club of three goals, set in 1991/92.
Kolo Muani has had an impressive impact since joining Juve on loan from Paris St-Germain last month, scoring five times in his first three Serie A games to become the first player to do so in the division in the three-point-per-win era, since 1994/95.
Should he score again, the France international will become only the second player to score in all of his first four Serie A games in that era, following Krzysztof Piatek, who netted in each of his first seven matches for Genoa during the 2018/19 season.
