It’s fair to say, there’s a lot going on at Juventus right now, and very little of it is positive.

A fortnight ago, la Vecchia Signora were deducted 15 Serie A points for ‘capital gain violations’, namely over-inflating transfer valuations.

This is subject to appeal but, for now at least, this saw Juve drop from third all the way down to 13th.

On the pitch too, Massimiliano Allegri’s men are now winless in three, most-recently beaten 2-0 by Monza at home on Sunday.

Having also won the reverse fixture, Monza became the first club to win their first two Serie A matches against Juventus since Inter in 1930.

So, if I Bianconeri are to be marooned in mid-table, could the cup be their best route back into UEFA competition?

Given everything that’s going on in Turin, Lazio will come into this tie hopeful of, what would still be, a minor upset.

I Biancocelesti were held to a 1-1 draw by Fiorentina on Sunday, but are now third in the table, above Atalanta and A.C. Milan on goal difference.

Maurizio Sarri’s side lost 3-0 when they took on Juventus in November, but are optimism of a more favourable outcome this time.

Who will advance at Allianz Stadium, with a semi-final showdown against Internazionale the prize on offer for the winners?
