Match Preview

The unbeaten Roma will look to carry on their excellent start to the season when they meet with the winless Monza in Serie A this Tuesday evening as Jose Mourinho’s men have only gone and bolstered their title argument even more after last weekend.

There was so much attention on Mourinho’s side after the transfer window they had that saw them bring in superstar names like Paulo Dybala, while also adding in title-winning names like Nemanja Matic. On the other hand, Roma have so far only scored three goals in the league.

The run in the first three games has been quite easy for Roma so far, with the recent trip to Turin being the only major talking point. Tammy Abraham did manage to get a goal in that 1-1 draw with Juventus recently, as Mourinho’s side conceded their first goal of the season in a game where they continue their defensive brilliance as even the goal they conceded came from a direct free kick.

Roma have also beaten Salernitana and Cremonese so far in Serie A, and given how these two sides should fight relegation just like Monza may, those clashes could be a look into how this game should go. In other words, under 2.5 goals seems almost certain, while the solid defensive start to Mourinho’s season should see them keep a clean sheet.

As for Monza, they have lost all three games so far in their first-ever Serie A season, with Torino, Napoli and  Udinese all beating them with a combined eight goals conceded and just two scored of their own. Monza did, however, manage to take the lead against Udinese, as Andrea Colpani scored the his side’s only goal that day.

Roma should get the win here, and anything but a comfortable three points would seriously change the talk of a title charge around Rome.
