Eighth and seventh in Serie A will meet this weekend as Torino welcome Udinese to Turin in what could end up being one of the most important games of the season for either side with hopes of a spot in Europe now incredibly slim.
Although it is far from a mathematical conclusion, there is very little to argue the case of these two getting back into Europe with the top six in Serie A looking untouchable.
Heading into this clash, however, it is Udinese who are being classed as the best of the rest in Italy’s top flight. The Udine side sit eight places behind Roma in sixth and are ahead of Torino just below them by two goals and have a much betters goals difference too.
Udinese did manage to draw with the relegation-sitting Hellas Verona on Monday, however, as Lazar Samardzic managed to score in the first half to bring the game level at the Dacia Arena.
Torino drew 2-2 with Empoli in their last Serie A game, but Ivan Juric’s men do sit comfortably in the top half of the table after a great 1-0 win away to Fiorentina two weeks ago.
