Match preview
12th and ninth will meet in Serie A this Sunday as Udinese and Bologna clash at the Dacia Arena in search of their first win of the 2023 after a dull return to action for both sides.
Udinese head into this one off the back of just one goal in their two games since competitive action in Italy resumed. Roberto Pereya got that goal, as he scored an equaliser at home against Empoli.
The club then went on to lose to Juventus in Serie A and Udinese now sit down in eighth and their early dreams of a return to European football has seemingly faded.
As for Bologna, they too have netted one goal, but while Udinese picked up a point, Thiago Motta’s men lost to Roma 1-0 and Atalanta 2-1. Riccardo Orsolini scored the goal that day against Atalanta in what is the only positive of 2023 so far.
Six points still separate these sides, however, with Bologna now four behind Torino in terms of getting back into the top half of the table. The Udine outfit, on the other hand, are still four behind sixth-placed Atalanta.
