Euro 2024

As far as draws go, Belgium will be delighted with the pairings they have been given for Group E at Euro 2024.

The Red Devils will compete alongside Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine for a spot in the knockout stages and barring a complete disaster, they should find safe passage through.

But we must not forget that Belgium did crash out in the group stages at the 2022 World Cup, albeit in a much tougher draw.

The battle behind them will be intriguing to watch and the second spot will be anyone’s to claim.

Ukraine have been priced up as the favourites to qualify behind Belgium and in their fourth consecutive appearance at the Euros, will be full of confidence when they head to Germany.

Don’t rule out a charge from either Slovakia and Romania though.

They both have players capable of making something happen in what might be one of the harder groups to predict for the second, third and fourth spots.

Later in this article, we will identify a few good value bets but if you need to open an account, you can find the best promotional offers on the market.

Predictions, Bets, Odds

The odds listed below were provided by bet365 and were correct at the time of publication. However, they are subject to change.

Ukraine to win the group @ 4/1 with bet365

Belgium not to qualify @ 10/1 with bet365

Slovakia to qualify @ 1/1 with bet365

Group E is a dream if you’re thinking of having a flutter with the bookies.

Belgium’s form in Qatar 18 months ago is enough to warrant some consideration over them not qualifying.

It would likely be the shock of the tournament but at 10/1, the market is there to potentially earn some big profit.

Likewise, any of the other three teams to win the group is great value.

Ukraine at 4/1 stands out but Slovakia at 11/1 and Romania at 13/2 are huge odds if you were looking to take a bit more of a risk.

Romania to simply qualify is sitting at 4/6 so it is clear that the bookies are having a hard time separating the three below the Red Devils.

Group Preview

Belgium marked their place at Euro 2024 with ease after storming through their qualifying group.

They picked up 20 points, winning six and drawing two of their eight games. It also saw them extend their unbeaten run in qualifiers across the World Cup and Euros to 40 matches.

Romelu Lukaku was in top form for his country, scoring 14 times. He needs just two goals in Germany to move himself up and into the top three scorers in Euro history.

Opta has marked Belgium with a 53.1% chance of winning Group E and a 4.7% chance of winning the trophy.

Ukraine made it to the quarter-finals at Euro 2020 before being knocked out by England and they arrive with their usual underdog tag having qualified through the play-offs.

But Serhiy Rebrov’s side will secretly fancy their chances against any opponent and although Belgium have been marked as favourites in their group, there is a chance that the Eastern Europeans could pose a real threat.

They have developed a habit of coming from behind in matches, overturning a deficit in four of their 10 qualifying matches.

Romania have not progressed from the group stages in 24 years but they have a big chance to make history in 2024.

They did not lose a single qualifying match with Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin in defence and only Portugal and France had a better defensive record than his side.

However, Romania have only ever one won game at the tournament itself but there is no doubt they will be up for their opener against Ukraine.

Slovakia’s tournament could get off to a brilliant start if they can take any points off Belgium in their opening match.

They won seven of their 10 qualifying matches but lost twice to Portugal and beat four other sides who rank outside of the top 70.
