Carlisle United will meet with Barrow in League Two this weekend as two sides eyeing up a spot in the playoffs this season clash at Brunton Park with only one place and one point separate the two teams before Saturday.
In fact, it’s arguably the biggest game of the season for both Carlisle and Barrow, but it is the latter who head into the game one point clear and knowing that they can seriously stamp down their marker on the playoff spots with a win. A victory would send Barrow four clear of Carlisle, and dependant on the result in the game involving Northampton Town, Barrow could move just two points off third.
Carlisle have a much better goals difference record so far in League Two, scoring 31 goals compared to Barrow’s 27 and letting in just 21 in comparison to the 24 of Barrow.
Carlisle managed to make their unbeaten run in the league stretch to five games after drawing 1-1 with Sutton United. They did, however, defeat Salford City just prior to this and drew with Harrogate Town and Walsall before that.
As for Barrow, they were smashed by Stevenage 5-0 in the last round of League Two fixtures, which has both brought them rapidly back down to earth and forced them nine points away from second place.
