Ghana pushed Portugal all the way on Thursday evening, but the European giants just about got over the line winning 3-2.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix and Rafael Leao secured the victory for Fernando Santos’ side.

However, the African nation twice gave Ronaldo and company a scare as they drew level at 1-1 and then threatened to draw level again late on.

Osman Bukari scored a second for Ghana in the 90th minute to give Otto Addo’s late hope.

But instead of running to get the ball, Bukari ran to the corner flag and hit Ronaldo’s signature ‘siu’ celebration.

“I have noticed my celebration today has generated comments claiming I was disrespectful towards Ronaldo”

The striker has been accused of disrespecting the Portuguese captain, however, he has hit back at critics for his celebration.

“I was overcome by the emotion of the moment of scoring for my country on my World Cup debut leading to my celebration.

“My upbringing doesn’t permit me to be disrespectful to elders let alone one of my idols.

“Thanks for your support and we focus on our next game!”
