Portugal and Switzerland will battle it out in the final round of 16 game at the Qatar 2022 World Cup with the Euro 2016 champions coming into this one off the back of a loss to South Korea as the Swiss beat Serbia.
The loss to South Korea still meant that Portugal topped their group, but their unbeaten start to the World Cup has now gone after taking the lead against the Asian side. Ricardo Horta scored after five minutes that day and with 62% of the ball, it looked as if Portugal would ease to a win. Two goals from South Korea forced their first loss, however, but they did manage to beat Ghana and Uruguay. Bruno Fernandes has been the star so far with two goals and two assists.
Cristiano Ronaldo has also scored a penalty at this World Cup and he will be eager to continue on with more goals after a superstar performance from Lionel Messi last time out.
Switzerland will be far from an easy game after they finished level on points with Brazil following on from a victory against Serbia. Breel Embolo netted again that day, as did Xherdan Shaqiri and Remo Freuler.
Switzerland also edged past Cameroon but lost to Brazil by a narrow 1-0 scoreline. It could be a cagey game, and if the likes of Fernandes and Ronaldo are kept quiet, the Swiss will be confident in getting through to the last eight.
