Match preview

It’s matchday two in Group H this Monday as South Korea look to build on a decent point against Uruguay while Ghana aim to get their first points on the board after a narrow loss to Portugal where they were unfortunate not to get a draw.

Ghana looked excellent at times on the attack and they managed to score two goals in the 3-2 defeat to Portugal through Andre Ayew and Osam Bukari. Both goals were very well taken and with nine efforts towards goal compared to Portugal’s 11, there wasn’t that much difference between the two besides the overall better quality in the Portuguese lineup.

At the same time, two Portugal’s goals against Ghana were rapid-fire counter attack goals, while Cristiano Ronaldo also scored a penalty.

South Korea , however, failed to have a shot on target against Uruguay, but Luis Suarez and co. did only manage to have one of their own too in a lacklsutre 0-0 draw. In fact, from the few 0-0 draws there have been at this World Cup, the goalless game between Uruguay and South Korea was arguably the worst display at this World Cup so far.

All eyes will turn to Heung-min Son once again in this game and the 26-year-old Napoli defender, Kim Min-jae. Son was ineffective in the last game, but Kim Min-jae once again proved why he is getting so many plaudits in Europe right now.
