Blackburn Rovers vs Leicester City match preview

Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting recent spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Ewood Park this Sunday, October 1st.

The matchup in question will see Blackburn Rovers act as hosts, in a meeting with Leicester City.

Beginning with the former, Blackburn have found positive results altogether tough to come by of late.

In fact, stretching back to early September, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s troops have been condemned to defeat in three of their last four league outings.

Most recently, after slipping to a home loss against Sunderland, Rovers made the trip to Portman Road, for a meeting with high-flying Ipswich Town.

And, despite racking up three goals, their ongoing struggles at the back proved decisive, en route to an eventual 4-3 result.

Heading into Sunday’s clash, Blackburn therefore find themselves languishing in a lowly 17th in England’s 2nd tier.

And no doubt confident in their chances of adding ever further to the woes of their upcoming hosts later today will be a Leicester City outfit in the midst of an altogether more fruitful run of form.

The Foxes, for their part, will have the chance to take sole ownership of Championship top spot at Ewood Park.

This comes owing to a fine campaign to date.

All told, in eight league outings across the term thus far, Enzo Maresca’s side have emerged triumphant from all but one.

Their latest three-point haul came last Saturday, when a solitary Jamie Vardy spot-kick proved enough to put Bristol City to the sword at the King Power Stadium.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Sunday’s action playing out between Leicester and Blackburn?

We are backing the former, when all is said and done, to emerge on the right side of a likely lopsided result.
