Match preview
Table-topping Burnley will set about extending their advantage atop the Championship standings ever further this Tuesday, February 21st, in a showdown with playoff hopefuls Millwall.
The Clarets, of course, have long proven themselves the standout performers in England’s 2nd tier.
Since finding a way to turn oft-frustrating stalemates into three-point hauls, Vincent Kompany’s troops have embarked on a remarkable stretch of form, to the tune of wins in 11 of the club’s last 12.
One such triumph came this past weekend, highlighting once more Burnley’s ability to grind out results even when not at their best.
This marked a bounce-back result for the Clarets, too, who had just days prior been forced to settle for a share of the spoils at home to Watford.
Such efforts, all told, mean that another victory on Tuesday evening would see Burnley open up a near-insurmountable 14-point advantage at the summit of England’s 2nd tier.

Securing such a result, though, will prove easier said than done.
This comes with upcoming opponents Millwall having long proven themselves a tough nut to crack at The Den.
Millwall, for their part, currently sit joint-sixth in the Championship table, whilst in possession of at least one game in hand on every other club in the division.
Such impressive standing comes in no small part owing to their form in home fixtures, with the Lions, remarkably, having not been put to the sword in a single outing in east London since all the way back in September.
This past weekend, their formidable nature at home was on show once more, too, in a meeting with Sheffield United.
After the visiting Blades appeared to have done enough to snatch a share of the spoils, star of the show Tom Bradshaw rounded out a fine hat-trick late on, to guide Millwall to the right side of a 3-2 scoreline.
And yet, despite all of the Lions’ recent excellence, it is just so hard to look beyond Burnley as favourites later today.
We at 101 are therefore backing Vincent Kompany’s visitors, just, to emerge from the action at The Den with all three points.
