Match preview

Two sides in search of a bounce-back result are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday, February 21st.

The matchup in question will see Swansea City act as hosts, in a meeting with Stoke City.

Beginning with the former, Swansea have continued to struggle in their efforts to string together any sot of consistent stretch of results of lat.

The Swans, all told, have notched just a solitary victory from their last six attempts across all competitions, last week against relegation-battling Blackpool.

This came as a last-gasp strike on the part of Blackburn Rovers’ Daniel Ayala proved enough to condemn the Welsh giants to a 1-0 defeat at Ewood Park.

After looking like contenders for a promotion playoff berth earlier in the season, Swansea, in turn, now find themselves languishing in mid-table in England’s 2nd tier.

Upcoming opponents Stoke City, though, will also head into Tuesday’s action at the Liberty Stadium fresh off a disappointing result last time out.

After looking as though they had turned a corner courtesy of three wins from five across all competitions – a run which included drubbings of both Reading and Huddersfield – Stoke, on Saturday, made the trip to a Blackpool outfit without a single win since all the way back in October.

Safe to say, then, that it came as a major blow when the Potters were ultimately put to the sword.

Despite completely dominating when it comes to possession and shots at goal alike, a lack of cutting edge in the final third proved hugely costly, en route to an eventual 1-0 loss.

Stoke, as a result, saw their push towards mid-table brought to a firm halt.

Instead, Alex Neil’s men sit in the depths of 19th, just six points clear of the bottom three.

We at 101, though, are backing the Potters to steady the ship later today, in emerging from proceedings in southwest Wales with a hard-fought share of the spoils.
