Cheltenham Day 1 free bet tips

Supreme Novice Hurdle

The curtain raiser for the week, the first of 28 races. Constitution Hill was the winner in 2022 and has moved onto the Champion Hurdle this time round, with Facile Vega favourite to follow in those footsteps this year. Marine Nationale and II Etair Temps make it an intriguing race to start with however.

Arkle Novice Chase

The two-mile jump race offers an intriguing glimpse into the future, with winners to be kept an eye on in future events. El Fabiolo is one to keep an eye on and is expected to challenge favourite Jonbon.

Ultima Handicap Chase Betting

It is pretty common to see past and future Grand National runners compete in the Ultima, but not always the easiest to pick a pre-meet favourite. Corach Rambler is currently favourite, followed by Into Overdrive and Nassalam.

Champion Hurdle Betting

Constitution Hill is favourite to triumph in the Champion Hurdle, having moved on from the Supreme Novice Hurdle and tipped to go on to become a real force after an exceptional 12 months.

Mares Hurdle Betting

With three wins already to her name at Cheltenham and set to bow out after this year’s race, Honeysuckle is once again backed to go big and win the Mares Hurdle this year.

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Betting

The ‘Fred Winter Hurdle’ is for four-year-old novice hurdlers and has a history of producing some very strong potential runners. Tekao is favourite, closely followed by Byker and Nusret.

National Hunt Chase Betting

The final race of the day has provided future Gold Cup and Grand National contenders despite being limited to amateur riders. Tiger Roll is one previous winner, so could that be the fate for Gaillard Du Mesnil, Ramillies or Mahler Mission?
