The Fantasy Premier League deadline for gameweek two is 11:00 am UK time on Saturday.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you chose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 2

Erling Haaland vs Bournemouth (11.1m)

Many FPL fans avoided signing/captaining Erling Haaland in gameweek 1 as they were unsure how he would perform in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola.

That was very much a mistake as the Norwegian caused West Ham all sorts of issues with his runs in behind. Haaland netted twice for City vs West Ham and his goal involvements are only expected to rise this weekend.

Granted, Haaland did not score from any, but that is likely to change sooner rather than later. And even if the crosses do not connect, Haaland has Kevin De Bruyne sending him in behind every chance he gets.

All of this led to Haaland having the most goal involvements of any Premier League player on the opening weekend (4), despite only playing 78 minutes.

So, when Manchester City taken on a weak Bournemouth team this weekend, a Haaland return is very likely.

Mohamed Salah vs Crystal Palace (13.0m)

Salah kicked off his 2022/23 by notching one goal and one assist vs Fulham.

The Egyptian is once again tipped to haul this coming Monday vs Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have improved under Patrick Vieira, but their record vs Liverpool remains dismal.

Palace have not beaten Liverpool since all the way back in April of 2017, losing the following 11 meetings between the pair since then.

It is also worth pointing out that, under Vieira, Palace have conceded six times vs Liverpool in just two games.

Gabriel Jesus vs Leicester City (8.0m)

With Haaland and Salah such good picks this weekend, there is little need for another captain option.

However, if for whatever reason you do not wish to captain either of the aforementioned players, the next best thing is probably Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian looked extremely sharp vs Palace in GW1 one and Arsenal now face a Leicester side whose defensive record is less than great.
