Leeds United will be wary of their position in the table coming into the weekend program when Jesse Marsch’s outfit travels to Birmingham to clash with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday night under the lights in England’s second city. Despite some rave reviews surrounding Leeds’ dazzling young performers Crysencio Summerville, Brenden Aaronson, and Wilfried Gnonto, Marsch’s men are in the midst of a four-match winless run (0-2-2) which has them sitting just three points clear of the drop zone.

Emery’s men are likely to offer stiff opposition while at their home patch tomorrow as well, with the club securing point hauls in four of their last six Premier League fixtures (3-1-2) while picking up four points from a possible six in their recent results against Wolves (1-1 D) and Tottenham (0-2 W).

Though Leeds may be set to welcome highly-touted French youth international striker Georginio Rutter to Elland Road in another credible deal targeted by club director of football Victor Orta, the Whites must be wary of the bottom-half grind if their long-term plans in terms of player recruitment are to bear fruit.

Predicted Leeds United XI

Leeds United Team News

  • Luis Sinisterra, Stuart Dallas, and Archie Gray (out)
  • Patrick Bamford, and Adam Forshaw (doubt)

Jesse Marsch remains without summer acquisition Luis Sinisterra after the former Feyenoord starlet persists on the treatment table during what has become a tormenting first season in Yorkshire for the Colombian winger. Stuart Dallas and Archie Gray are also guaranteed to be unavailable.

The Leeds boss may be able to welcome Patrick Bamford and Adam Forshaw back in contention, however, with late assessments to take place in due course which could see the pair included in the match day squad, though neither would be expected to feature in the matchday XI.
