Managerless Tottenham had their luck run out earlier today in the capital during a 3-2 defeat against visiting Bournemouth just one week after they were gifted a huge 2-1 win over Brighton.

Gary O’Neil’s visiting Cherries are very much in the mix when it comes to the scrap for relegation near the bottom of the Premier League table, and came into the weekend program just three points clear of the bottom three but had picked out three wins from their last six league fixtures; form unbecoming of a side that could be destined for the drop.

South Korean international star Son Heung-min had opened the scoring in the 14th minute to set Spurs off and running at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Bournemouth went on to battle back for the remainder of the half and was justly rewarded in those efforts with an equalizer from Matías Viña seven minutes from the half-time interval to pull the clubs level at one-all.

Former Liverpool striker Dominik Solanke gave O’Neil’s men an unexpected lead in the 51st minute to begin the second stanza in north London in a moment where many Spurs supporters feared the worst akin to countless moments across a frustrating 2022-23 campaign on all fronts.

As the clock drew closer to full-time, with Bournemouth still in the lead, it would once again come down to a moment of contention from VAR after Arnaut Danjuma bagged an equalizer, but many felt Spurs were gifted a goal once again after Cherries shot-stopper Neto may have been obstructed by Harry Kane after the Dutchman’s shot from outside the box whizzed just past the English star, but VAR judged that Kane’s presence was not deemed sufficient enough to pull the goal back.

Tottenham then looked to push on for a late winner, but it would be young Burkinabe forward Dango Ouattara to be the man of the moment for Bournemouth to pop up and seal a winner in the 5th minute of added time after creating space in the box before sending a bending effort low into the far corner for his first goal since his January arrival from Lorient.

In regards to Bournemouth, it was their first Premier League win away at Spurs in the club’s history, and with the south coast outfit now sitting six points clear of the relegation zone while winning four of their last six, supporters will feel confident that O’Neil will successfully steer the ship away from the shallows.
