It is quarter-final time in the Olympics men’s football as eight teams battle for the chance to play for a medal at Paris 2024.

Hosts France take on Argentina in a blockbuster tie, while Spain face Japan, Morocco clash with USA and Egypt take on Paraguay.

Let’s take a look at the tips we think offer value (all odds correct at 8am on August 2, 2024)

Morocco vs USA

The United States have reached the last eight of the men’s Olympic football for the first time in 24 years after a successful group stage which saw them finish second behind France in Group A after wins over New Zealand and Guinea.

Morocco, however, presents a much sterner test, with the Atlas Lions earning top spot in Group B and beating Argentina.

Clean sheets have been hard to come by for both sides, so we expect USA to find the back of the net but Morocco to progress.

Tip: Morocco to qualify and both teams to score @ 7/4

Japan vs Spain

Japan are one of only two teams, the other being hosts France, to win all three games in the group stage as they look to stop Tokyo silver medallists Spain in their tracks.

Spain have also looked impressive, breezing past Uzbekistan and Dominican Republic before a much-changed side lost to Egypt.

La Roja possess the experience at this level and should progress but Japan’s rock-solid defence should make this a cagey affair.

Tip: Spain to qualify @ 4/9

France vs Argentina

The headline quarter-final tie sees hosts France take on Argentina in what could be a bad-tempered clash in Bordeaux.

Ill feeling over senior star Enzo Fernandez’s offensive chanting about French players still lingers, with Argentina’s players treated to a hostile greeting in all three games so far.

Argentina’s start to the tournament was anything but smooth, losing to Morocco in a chaotic encounter. Since then though, they have secured wins over Iraq and Ukraine.

Les Bleus have looked pretty flawless in their pursuit of a first gold medal since 1984, beating USA, Guinea and New Zealand without conceding a goal.

Given the attacking talent on both sides, we are expecting both sides to find the net in this clash.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 10/11

Accumulator

If you want to put these tips together in a treble, it comes in at 6.58/1.
