Manchester City midfielder Rodri has won the Ballon d’Or for 2024.
The Spanish star has claimed the prestigious individual accolade for the first time after lifting this fifth Premier League title as well as his key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph.
Rodri saw off competition from a number of high-profile stars including Vinicius Junior, who chose not to travel to the ceremony after hearing he would miss out on the prestigious individual accolade.
Real Madrid winger Vinicius enojoyed a sensational season in Spain, leading Los Blancos to their 15th Champions League title as well as winning LaLiga.

Jude Bellingham, a team-mate of Vinicius at Real, finished third as fellow England star Harry Kane came in 10th.
The Three Lions captain did take home the Gerd Muller Trophy alongside Kylian Mbappe after the duo netted 52 goals each in all competitions last season.
Real right-back Dani Carvajal was fourth with Erling Haaland completing the top five after another prolific season for Manchester City.
Mbappe, who moved to Real from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, came sixth, with Copa America winner Lautaro Martinez taking seventh.
Eighth went to Spain star Lamine Yamal, who scooped up the Kopa Trophy handed to the best young player, with now retired Real midfielder Toni Kroos named in ninth.
Champions League winners Madrid did have something to celebrate on the night after being named Men’s Club of the Year at the ceremony in Paris but, after Real refused to send anyone to attend the ceremony, there was no one there to accept the award.
