Celtic will look to prove they can cut it in the Champions League tonight when they visit Bergamo to take on Atalanta.

Questions were asked about Brendan Rodgers’ approach away from home in Europe’s elite club competition when they were thrashed 7-1 by Borussia Dortmund at the start of the month.

Rodgers said at the time he would stick to his attacking principles despite facing an Atalanta side that are the top-scorers in Serie A this season.

Atalanta Team News

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini makes just one change to the side that won 2-0 at Venezia at the weekend with former Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac coming into the side in place of Charles De Ketelaere.

Ben Godfrey starts on the bench for the hosts.

Atalanta: Carnesecchi, Hien, Djimisti, Kolasinac, Bellanova, De Roon, Ederson, Zappacosta, Pasalic, Lookman, Retegui

Celtic Team News

Rodgers appears to have stuck to his guns, despite making three changes to the side that were totally overwhelmed in Dortmund.

Alex Valle replaces the injured Greg Taylor at left-back, Reo Hatate comes in for Paulo Bernardo in midfield while Adam Idah starts in attack in place of Kyoto Furuhashi in Rodgers’ preferred 4-3-3 formation.

Bar Idah’s reintroduction, it’s the same side that drew 2-2 with Aberdeen at Parkhead at the weekend.

Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers remains sidelined.

Celtic: Schmeichel, Trusty, Valle, Scales, Johnston, McGregor, Hatate, Kuhn, Maeda, Idah
