Football manager Unai Emery

Aston Villa want to stay towards the top of the Champions League standings and a win against Club Brugge on the road would be a massive boost for Unai Emery’s men.

After a humbling 4-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, the trip to Belgium offers the perfect opportunity to bounce back for the Midlands club.

Having already beaten Young Boys, Bologna and Bayern Munich, there will be plenty of confidence in the travelling squad.

Brugge have only won one of their three games in the competition so far and will be desperate to lay down a marker and prove they can make it into the knockout stages.

Read on to see how both teams line-up for the match.

Club Brugge line-up

Brugge have a great mix of youth and experience in their line-up.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is in goal for the hosts, with Maxim De Cuyper, Brandon Mechele, Joel Ordonez and Joaquin Seys in defence.

A narrow formation sees Hans Vanaken, Ardon Jashari and Hugo Vetlesen make up the midfield.

Christos Tzolis and Andreas Skov Olsen sit in front of the three.

And Ferran Jutgla plays as a lone striker.

Aston Villa line-up

Emery knows his best starting XI but unsurprisingly done a lot of tinkering following the defeat at Spurs.

Emiliano Martinez remains in goal for the Villans, with a back four of Ian Maatsen, Tyrone Mings, Diego Carlos and Ezri Konsa.

Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans make up the midfield pivot.

Leon Bailey, John McGinn and Morgan Rogers all play, with the latter coming through injury.

And Ollie Watkins leads the line for the visitors.
