Conor Gallagher has scored the fastest Champions League goal ever by an English player.

The former Chelsea midfielder needed just 27 seconds to give Atletico Madrid the lead over Real Madrid, levelling the tie up at 2-2 in the last-16.

It was a lovely team move from Atleti, with Gallagher winning the ball back before Julian Alvarez set Rodrigo de Paul up for a low cross into the box.

Guiliano Simeone dummied the delivery beautifully to leave it for Gallagher, who slid the ball into the back of the net after a deflection off Mendy.

The England international did well to anticipate the ball making it into the box before sliding in ahead of his former team-mate Thibaut Courtois, who could not get down quick enough.

All the work done by Los Blancos in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu has now been undone, with the game up for grabs for either team.

Can Real Madrid hit back and regain their lead on hostile soil? Or can Atletico use the momentum and crowd to get one over on their rivals in Europe?
