The Europa Conference League served up plenty of action on Thursday night.

In one of the early kick-offs, Chelsea thrashed Greek side Panathinaikos 4-1 on the road.

Hearts were also in action as the other British team representing the island in Europe.

St. Gallen 2-4 Fiorentina

Fiorentina played out a thriller away to St. Gallen in Switzerland.

The visitors went behind 23 minutes into the game, but scored twice without reply to go 2-1 early in the second half.

And after another St. Gallen goal to level things, the Italian side pulled away with a second goal for Jonathan Ikone and Robin Gosens.

Real Betis 1-1 FC Kobenhavn

Real Betis had to settle for a draw at home to FC Kobenhavn.

The Spanish side took the lead after just eight minutes through Abdessamad Ezzalzouli’s strike from distance.

But Kevin Diks equalised from the spot 77 minutes in, earning his side a valuable point.

Gent 2-1 Molde

Gent left it late to beat Molde at home on Thursday evening.

Noah Fadiga scored the opener just 24 minutes into the game, before Mats Moller Daehli pulled it back with 10 minutes to go.

But Archie Brown scored a winner in the 95th, recording the club’s first win in Europe this season.

Hearts 2-0 Omonia Nicosia

Hearts had no trouble getting past Omonia Nicosia at home.

Alan Forrest opened the scoring 16 minutes in, before Blair Spittal put the game to bed seven minutes later.
