Rangers bravely held on for a controversial goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final despite playing for 77 minutes with 10 men.
The Basque side must have fancied their chances of claiming an advantage to take back to San Mames when Rangers defender Robin Propper was sent off, via the intervention of VAR, for a poor challenge on Inaki Williams just 13 minutes in.
Yet Rangers held their own for the most part although they had to ride their luck at times with goalkeeper Liam Kelly, preferred instead of Jack Butland, justifying his inclusion with a string of fine saves.
The lively Maroan Sannadi thought he had won a penalty after a risky challenge from Leon Balogun but his claims were waved away.
And Sannadi then flashed a close-range shot wide after 58 minutes after latching on to a right-wing cross.
Athletic finally thought they had the opener when Alex Berenguer slotted home after a fine save from Kelly, only for VAR to intervene due to a potential handball from Rangers defender Dujon Sterling.
The goal was subsequently ruled out and Athletic awarded a penalty which Berenguer missed, his spot-kick down the middle hitting Kelly on the legs and rebounding over the bar.
PENALTY SAVED BY KELLY 🧤
After a lengthy VAR check, where Bilbao thought they'd scored, only to be ruled out for offside, but given a penalty instead for handball – Berenguer has his penalty brilliantly kept out by Kelly!

Twelve minutes of stoppage time – caused by a nasty looking injury to Bailey Rice – saw Rangers finish the game with nine men after Sterling was unable to continue after Barry Ferguson had used all of his substitutes.
Oh-no Onana
Andre Onana endured a night to forget as Manchester United squandered a late advantage to draw 2-2 in Lyon.
The Cameroonian, who was involved in a war of words with Nemanja Matic before the game, was at fault for both of Lyon’s goals.
The first saw him flap at Thiago Almada’s free-kick with the ball drifting inside his far post.
United hit back with goals from Leny Yoro and substitute Joshua Zirkzee and looked to have done enough when, in the fifth minute of injury time, Onana spilled Almada’s shot into the path of Rayan Cherki, who dinked home the leveller.
LYON WITH A LATE GOAL! 💥
Andre Onana's save is spilled into a dangerous area and Rayan Cherki makes no mistake ⚽

Porro goal not enough as Spurs are held
Tottenham dominated Eintracht Frankfurt but could not earn a first-leg advantage thanks to a combination of bad luck, poor finishing and impressive goalkeeping from Kaua Santos.
Hugo Ekitike’s early goal put the Bundesliga side ahead but Spurs hit back through Pedro Porro’s clever backheeled effort.
Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur hit the woodwork in the second half while Santos pulled off a number of impressive saves, including acrobatically diverting Micky van de Ven’s header over the bar deep into stoppage time.
Oh my word Kauã Santos 😯
The Frankfurt keeper DENIES van de Ven a Spurs winner right at the death!

Saltnes sees off Lazio
The early kick-off saw Lazio suffer a surprise 2-0 defeat by Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt.
Ulrik Saltnes netted twice in the second half as the Italian side struggled to get anything going in the freezing conditions.
