Heung-min Son will miss Tottenham’s Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.
Manager Ange Postecoglou says the Spurs captain felt “sore” after Saturday’s 4-1 win over West Ham and will be rested for their third game of their European campaign.
“Sonny was a bit sore after the weekend,” Postecoglou said.
“He was never going be involved tomorrow, leaving him out of tomorrow and see how he is from there.”

Other than Son’s absence, Postecoglou is set to have a full squad to choose from, with Richarlison in contention to make his first appearance of the season after injury.
The Spurs boss said: “Richy got through this weekend really well, almost the second week of training now. Ready to go in terms of being available.”
Summer signing Wilson Odobert is also nearing his return after a month out but Postecoglou says they will “have to be a bit more careful” with him as he has only returned to training this week, adding: “Game time will be game-dependent with him.”
The game may come too soon for right-back Djed Spence, who took part in individual training on Wednesday.

Parrott returns
Thursday’s enconter will see former academy star Troy Parrott return to Spurs following his permanent move to Alkmaar in the summer.
The 22-year-old Irish striker, who had a successful loan spell in the Netherlands with Excelsior, has made a strong start at his new club, scoring six goals in his first 11 games.
“It’s good to see Troy doing well,” Postecoglou added.
“He had a great loan spell last year in the Dutch league and he’s started his AZ career in positive fashion which is great.”
On whether Parrott was given a fair shot during seven years at Tottenham, the Australian said: “Sometimes it is just about timing.
“We have got a striker here who was at Chelsea and Liverpool when he was younger – and he’s done all right since.”
