England head coach Gareth Southgate has named an unchanged starting side as the Three Lions seek a second consecutive win at Uefa Euro 2024 when they face Denmark in Frankfurt on Thursday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has spent much of his career at right-back for club side Liverpool, started again in midfield, while left-back Luke Shaw, who is returning from injury, was not in the matchday squad.
Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi made his major-tournament debut in England’s opening 1-0 win over Serbia and continued in defence alongside John Stones, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, who earned his 50th cap.

Manchester City sensation Phil Foden had a quiet game by his influential standards against Serbia but retained his place, while Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham was aiming to repeat a star performance which included the winning goal.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made his 21st appearance at a major tournament, overtaking Peter Shilton (20) for the most games played by an England goalkeeper at World Cup and Euro final tournaments.

Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand made one change from the side he named to start his team’s 1-1 with Slovenia.
Joakim Maehle replaced Alexander Bah, while Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen, who netted for Denmark, was joined again on the teamsheet by club team-mate Rasmus Hojlund.

“Denmark will be a threat on set pieces – but then again, we said the same of Serbia the other day,” former England striker Alan Shearer told BBC Sport.
“England handled them superbly well overall. Denmark will be looking to get plenty of crosses into the box too today.”
Former England defender Micah Richards issued a warning about Eriksen. “If England give [him] time and space, he can hurt you,” said Richards.
“We saw him score against Slovenia: a lovely run into the box, chest control and quick finish. It was as a great moment for him – my moment of the tournament.”

“We needed to check all the players but wanted the continuity,” Southgate said, having kept the same team for the first time since England lost to France at the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
“We know we did some things very well and some things we want to get better at. There are guys who are training well and pushing and we’ll need fresh legs at some point, that’s for sure.

“I want [Alexander-Arnold] to do the things he’s really good at. The range of passes he has, the ability to unlock defences, he did a lot well [against Serbia] and, if he can add that final moment. he can cause Denmark a lot of problems.
“Kieran Trippier did an incredible job, huge part of us keeping a clean sheet. He’s a good footballer and has to adapt but he’s done that well for us in the past.”
