Bukayo Saka has returned to Arsenal for further assessment on the leg injury he sustained against Greece on Thursday and won’t travel with the rest of the England squad for tomorrow’s game in Finland.

Saka limped off early in the second half of England’s 2-1 defeat at Wembley and will now miss the second game of the Three Lions’ Nations League doubleheader in Helsinki.

While it’s a blow for interim boss Lee Carsley, it’s arguably of greater concern to Arsenal.

Saka has been an ever-present for the Gunners this season and took over the captaincy when Martin Odegaard was struck down by injury.

Liverpool’s Curtis Jones has also withdrawn from the squad owing to a personal commitment.

There was some good news for Carsley on Saturday, though, with Harry Kane and Jack Grealish – both of whom missed the Greece game – returning to group training.

The midweek setback leaves England second in League B2 with six points from three games.
